Woman Performing Imaging Procedure at Bellevue

Imaging & Labs

Bellevue Woman’s Center offers high-quality digital imaging to help women keep an eye on their health. Whether you are screening for breast cancer and osteoporosis or undergoing ultrasound for pregnancy, we offer the tests you need in a compassionate environment.

Our services include:

At the Bellevue Woman’s Center, we offer the latest in mammography technology. Our digital mammography allows radiologists to get a closer look at any areas of the breast tissue. Combined with computer-assisted detection capability, digital mammography helps us diagnose cancer at an earlier stage so women can undergo less treatment for excellent outcomes.

We strive to help you feel comfortable with your care, offering services such as MammoPad. MammoPad provides a softer, warmer experience during mammography with less discomfort.

We are dedicated to the care of every woman. We provide free mammograms for qualified women who are uninsured and/or underinsured. Please ask about these services when calling one of our mammography programs.

For more information on our imaging services or to schedule an appointment, please call Medical Imaging at Bellevue Women’s Center at 518.243.3333

In addition to the latest angiography, mammography, and MRI equipment, we offer patients access to advanced CT scan technology. CT scans provide your care team with three-dimensional images of the body to help them scan and diagnose more quickly.

CT services are offered through Ellis Hospital located at 1101 Nott Street, Schenectady.

For more information about CT services at Ellis, contact the radiology department at 518.243.4311.

Ultrasounds are safe, noninvasive tests that use radio waves to create live video images of structures inside your body. They can be used to examine almost every part of the body and are often used to look more closely at cysts, tumors, or other tissues and monitor fetal health during pregnancy.

Our radiologists also use ultrasound to guide minimally invasive and stereotactic breast biopsies. These biopsies use only a needle to take a sample of breast tissue that can be studied for cancerous cells. Minimally invasive breast biopsies are outpatient procedures with little to no recovery time. They are essential to the early diagnosis of cancer and cancer treatment planning.

Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) is a specialized X-ray that helps determine the density of bones. As we age, our bones become less dense and are more likely to fracture. DEXA can help diagnose osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), so you can receive treatment that could help prevent broken bones in the future.

This noninvasive test uses a low dose of radiation is very safe. It is recommended for women ages 65 and older.

We offer convenient lab services, and outpatient blood draws at the Bellevue Woman’s Center on a walk-in basis, making it easy for you to get the care you need.

In addition to imaging tests, laboratory tests of blood and other fluids and tissues can help diagnose a wide range of health conditions from heart disease to cancer to kidney problems. Early diagnosis means earlier treatment and hopefully prevention of complications or serious issues in the future.
