Current Visitor Policy

In-person tours have resumed, but virtual tours are still available. Please see the Ellis Medicine Visitor Guidelines for additional details.

Influenza Advisory:

As flu season continues, we urge everyone to follow guidelines and protocols to protect the health and safety of our patients, colleagues, and visitors. In line with guidance from the New York State Department of Health, Ellis Medicine has reinstated our influenza policy. The Health Commissioner’s declaration will remain in effect until influenza is no longer considered prevalent in the state.

Key Points of the Policy:
  • Children Under 12: Not permitted to visit patient rooms due to their higher risk of carrying and spreading respiratory infections. Exceptions may be granted in specific cases, such as end-of-life care, with prior clinical authorization.
  • NICU Restrictions: No child visitors are allowed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • Ill Visitors: Anyone exhibiting signs of illness is not permitted to visit.
  • Location-Based Restrictions: Additional restrictions may apply depending on specific areas.
  • Employees who have received an exemption and have not received a flu shot are required to wear a mask in all patient care areas.

With safety as a core value, we remain committed to promoting the health and well-being of everyone. Thank you for helping us slow the spread of influenza and protect our community.
